Laboratory gases for health and nutrition research at the Rowett Institute
In 2015 the Rowett Institute will move to a new building in Aberdeen with a floor area of over 10,000 square metres (107,639 sq ft), equipped with state-of the-art laboratory facilities. The move aims to ensure that the Institute remains at the forefront of world class research in health and nutrition. Medical Gases has been awarded the contract to design and install all laboratory gas requirements, a total of 25 individual high purity systems. All the gas delivery systems will be installed in stainless steel tubing with all joints orbitally welded, to provide 6.0 purity gas at the point of delivery.

Laboratory gas systems at UCL
Medical Gases was responsible for the installation of all laboratory gas distribution and gas detection systems at the UCL research centre. The centre carries out research into molecular and cellular biology, imaging, electrophysiology and behavioural techniques to investigate how circuits in the brain process information.
This was a particularly challenging project from a logistics point of view as this is a new build in the heart of London’s West End.
